Q: What would your prefer: reading your favorite book over and over again until you got sick of it OR reading 100s of mediocre books? And why?
I would prefer to read my favorite book over and over again. Every time I go back and reread a book, no matter how well I know it, I notice a new detail. I always feel like I walk away with something knew, whether it be a new plot development I missed, or just a new take on a character. Mediocre books are great to read and they give you new ideas and things to think about but books you TRULY love are irreplaceable and, to me, a much better use of time! Then again I always want to give a book I THINK will be mediocre a try... who knows it might make it into my favorites list!
I'm a new follower and I agree! Mediocre books are good, but they're hard to get into and not as good as your favorite book which you obviously think is the best thing in the world!
I agree with you! I'd reread a favorite over the mediocre books. And whenever I revist a book I constantly find new details as if its the first time again. Those kinds of stories just never get old.
Dalene: I understand rereading could sometimes spoil the magic of a book, especially if its been a while and you have made it seem better in your mind! I will head over to your blog to return the follow :)
Tribute: I understand, you can't find new favorites if you don't read some iffy books!
I like this question, I think I am going to have join Follow Friday after all (thanks for the tip Lauren:)
I wouldn't want to get SICK of my fave book(s) but mediocre books (especially 100 of them??) are so blah. I'd be so down on reading after going through all those books that are just so-so:)
Oh, you're right! I also like to re-read favorites to see all those little details. But I'm always afraid of getting tired of them! :( Although just if I read the MANY times.
Totally agree! I especially like to reread my favorite book or series if there is a spin-off series. And you see that character in a different way. I like to go back and reread that book/series to see if I notice anything different :) Thanks for following me! New follower! Shae @ Understanding Shae's Story
Wonderful answer! That always happens to me as well - it's really amazing how you can always take something away from a book no matter how many times you read it.
