Weight in Wednesday (#4)

*I do ask that if you would like to participate please site me and my blog somewhere in the post.*

Todays topic:
Love Triangles Vs. Insta-love
My Answer:  Personally I dislike both! If the main characters fall in love instantly I don't have enough time to connect with them and it seems very unrealistic. On the flip side if there are more than one love interest I usually end up frustrated that one of them in let out to dry!  Really it's a no win situation.  The only saving grace of love triangles is there is always a guy left over for me ;).  So my final answer is Love Triangles beat out Insta-love!

What about YOU? Do you prefer Love Triangles or Insta-love?

Next weeks topic: Novellas Vs. Anthologies

Please email me with any topics you would like to see here on WiW at Epiloguereview@yahoo.com I would really appreciate any ideas you guys have!!

  2. They both annoy me too though insta-love is the worst, it just feels unrealistic. A love triangle isnt too bad :)

  5. I like the idea for this meme! I haven't seen one like it before. =]

  6. Um... could you please define "anthology"?! Novella is a short book, right? A shorter story. I saw a huge debate on Anthologies and I just couldn't ask... and Google is veeeery vague. I'm sure I have an opinion on 'em once I figure out what they are!!! LOl

    1. Oh I consider a anthology a collection of short stories, or prequels or companion novellas from multiple different authors all in one book. :) Novella, yes, it is a short book!

  7. Hey Lauren! A couple of weeks ago, I happened to see a notice on Goodreads about your meme, and I really like your idea. I've never participated in a meme before, so this is new to me, and I hope I'm following along correctly. :) I've only been blogging since the end of January this year. I'm also following your blog and will be following everyone else's blogs. :)

  10. "The only saving grace of love triangles is there is always a guy left over for me ;)"

    LOVE that statement!

Yep, total agreement with you, love triangles are much easier to stomach:)

  13. Why is it that I always agree with you? Lol. I agree, not the biggest fan of either but prefer love triangles. I hate it when two characters just look at each other and fall in love and know everything there is to know about each other... they think they know how the other one feels and thinks without even the effort to know them, lol.
What ever happened to great romances? :)

    1. YES!! We need more epic romance with the handwritten letters and sonnets sung beneath the window... well the sonnets might come off as creepy... As for the always agreeing I'll chalk it up to great minds think alike ;)

  14. I don't care for either at all, so I am not sure which to pick! ...Honestly,I think I dislike love triangles more simply for the fact that it seems like everywhere I turn [movies, books, etc.], there is a love triangle. They are so overdone; I am sick of it! I feel like love triangles are an excuse to add drama to the story, serving no other purpose than that --- drama. I am not a fan of drama.

On the other hand, I like depth, and insta-love doesn't seem very deep. I like attraction in stories, and it can be instant...but insta-love...ugh. Why must you make these questions so difficult?! Can I just choose neither?! =D

    1. No you can't choose neither :P but you can help me think of some less challenging prompts!

    2. Okay fiiine...well, then I choose...sigh. Love triangle seems more realistic; it would be more common in real life, I think, for two people to like the same person...than it would be for all of these perfectly perfect people to be the love interests.

Though, really, I am sort of preferring stories where the love connection is NOT the main storyline! Haha!

  15. I agree - if the first thing I'm introduced to about a character is how "totally hot" he is (serious, direct quote from my most recent read!), I'm not going to connect with him. I'm going to roll my eyes and wonder why I'm bothering to keep reading the book. Damn insta-love!

    1. Yeah... I like the ones where he is mildly attractive and we fall in love right along with the MC!

    1. I agree. I am not against insta-interest...I think attraction is real. But falling in love when you haven't even spoken to the person? Ugh.

  17. Both annoy me. Especially when they have the female enthralled in some instant unrealistic hotness. Seriously no human is so hot you're about to die and he grabs you and the first thing you notice is his hot abs or profile. Yuch!

  18. Daemon Salavatore Vs Stephan Salvatore!!!

  19. I completely agree with ^^^Debdatta^^^!!! ;)

But seriously, I prefer love triangles over insta-love. I want to get to know the character's on their own before getting to know them as a whole.

  20. I would suggest a topic Good review versus Bad review!

  21. As far as love triangles vs. insta-love, I like both, but it depends on the story. I think I would probably prefer insta-love (or lust) because I do believe in love at first sight. (or at least I did when I was younger)
Now for a topic...how about alpha male vs. beta male or brooding, dark hero vs. all american, boy next door? Another one is shy, timid heroine vs. outspoken, fierce heroine - or something along those lines. :)
Hope you get some good ones!
