DeleteCongrats on 500 followers!! Although your past the 600 point now :D Very cool!
ReplyDeleteLets Talk.... hmm well I guess one thing thats been on my mind lately is the whole following process, with GFC having their so called farewell, what do we use for followers? Networked Blogs, Linky Followers etc? Or do we do a massive blogger petition and beg Google to let us be? hehe
Kris
A book from Snowy River
Great topic!! That should inspire a good discussion
DeleteOMG! Congrats on your 500 followers hit!=D
ReplyDeleteAn idea for Let's Talk:
With all the giveaway hops that's going on, do you think people just join the giveaway hops to bribe more followers?
I've been noticing that lately though. But I love giveaway hops and following people=D And also, thanks for the giveaway!

ReplyDeleteThanks Georgette!! :)
DeleteCongrats on breaking 600! = )
ReplyDeleteThanks Melissa!! :)
DeleteOoops. Shoulda read the prompt first. LOL
ReplyDeleteHmmm. Let's talk topics... What kinds of things do you like included in a review? What endears and author to you? What turns you off? And the same could be asked regarding their books.
Great suggestions!! Thanks Melissa!
DeleteCongrats on your follower count and blog success!
ReplyDeleteAs for a prompt, my question is do you usually gravitate toward books in a series or shy away from them because of the "commitment?" How many books in a series is too many -- how many is enough to discourage you from reading it (or does it have the opposite effect)?
great idea!! :) I used to hate series but now I don't mind them! Thanks Becca.
DeleteThanks for the giveaway! *What topic? hmmm...hehe* Well, my question is what can you say about books turning into movies? Does it fascinate you always? or it would only result to disappointment most especially when that book was an ultimate read and the production team hadn't given the right justice to it (It was an opinion because sometimes it happened).
ReplyDeleteCongrats on another milestone on your blogging career! :)
-Riz B.
Good idea Clarissa!! Thanks for the input :)
DeleteI would want to see on Let's Discuss topics what readers are looking for in a review. Another topic might be about author interview, like them, love them, just want a giveaway?
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas!! I especially like the interview one :D
DeleteThanks for the giveaway! Really sorry, I think I had mistakenly put entries in the "US Only" section, while I mean to put it in the "International" section. Please ignore my entries in the US Only... :)

ReplyDeleteGreat prompt!! :) I'm sure many people have opinions on that!!
DeleteThanks for the giveaway! And congratulations on your followers:D.
ReplyDeleteThanks Misa!! :)
DeleteI am really stupid. I put entries in the "US Only" section, but I am not from US. Please eliminate my entries in the US Only. Really sorry:).

ReplyDeleteGreat idea Christina!! :) I like memes but I don't think I could do them every day!

DeleteDo you prefer reading series or standalones?
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think about books being made into movies?

~Jess
Great prompt thanks Jess!! (=
Deletecongrats on reaching 500
ReplyDeletecapcha;s
authors commenting on reviews
Thanks.. Great prompt ideas... but I've already done both of those
DeleteCongrats:)
ReplyDeleteHow about giving bad reviews when you're part of a blog tour or have interviewed the author
Ohhh that would be an awesome topic! Thanks Christina!
DeleteLet's talk is a great idea. How about Bad Book Covers?
ReplyDeleteI Know I've personally read quite a few E-books with horrible covers that turned out to be great reads, still because of the bad cover I wouldn't take the extra step and buy it in Paperback form.
Well thanks Kristin!! Ohhh... the dreaded book cover bash! (=
Delete+JMJ+
ReplyDelete"Love Triangles: More Please OR Enough Already?"
(In case anyone is wondering, I volunteer as captain of the Enough Already team. =P)
Thanks for the giveaway, Lauren. =)
I was wondering actually! :) Thanks for the idea!!
DeleteTopic: Where Have The Standalone Books Gone?
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 500 followers! That is amazing!
k_anon[at]hotmail[dot]co[dot]uk
OMG! YES. They have disappeared :/ Personally I am having withdrawals ;)
DeleteI love the Let's Talk idea! The posts you mentioned (authors commenting on reviews and word verification comments on this blog) are an awesome start, but I'd also love to see series vs standalones, or your thoughts on overdone YA trends in plots and covers.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for this post and this giveaway!
Thanks!! :) I'm glad to hear that you guys like the idea of it. Thanks for the awesome suggestions!
DeleteI love the idea of your Let's Talk posts. Perhaps you can talk about love triangles, yay or nay? YA fiction is so full of them, and I'm curious to see how many other people are as bored as I am. (:
ReplyDeleteThanks for the idea Beks! :)
Deletecongrats!
ReplyDeleteI love giveaways :)
Yay!!
DeleteI forgot to mention that the giveaway button can be found after clicking on the "Go to the giveaway buttons" link on my sidebar.
ReplyDeleteAs for the lets talk idea I've always wanted to discuss genres. Maybe some definitions for those who want to discover something new.
Thanks for the great giveaway and for making it international!
Awesome thanks for letting me know! :) Ohh good Idea... we'll see if I can do the definitions thing!
DeleteCongratulations.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if anyone's suggested it yet, and I know it's probably been discussed before but how about: ebooks or hard copies?
I don't know... just a thought :)
Ro,
Far Past Midnight
Thanks Ro :)
DeleteWhat book would you love to see turned into a movie/tv show?
ReplyDeleteFor those of you with ereaders, what books were so good that you had to repurchase them in ebook format?
great ideas Krista!! :)
DeleteWhat about how to respond to an author you follow when they ask did you like my book, when you really did not or it just was not for you and you do not want to hurt their feelings. Did that make sense LOL I think it could be phrased better, but the spirit is there :)
ReplyDeletethat is going to be one interesting discussion!!
DeleteThanks for the giveaway! Congrats on 500+ followers :D
ReplyDeleteIf you could take the...
1. Plot from a book
2. Characters from another book
3. Creatures/Special abilities from yet another book
And combine them all together to one story, which would it be?
HAHA That is AWESOME!! :) Thanks for the idea (=
DeleteHow about this: What would you do with comments that are not related to our post? (including "dry" comments such as: Great job, I like your blog, etc). There are bloggers who use comment box only to put back links to their blog. Would you confirm/reject them (if you use moderation)? Or even worse, would you report them as spam?
ReplyDeleteGreat idea Fanda!! :)
DeleteCongrats on reaching 500! And here's to
ReplyDelete500 more.....
As for some "Let's Talk" ideas how about....
*Love triangles-loved and loathed
*Couples that should be together but aren't
*Bloggers receiving "free" books-this was a big thing a little while ago. Loads of people assume bloggers just get "free" books and we all know these books aren't really free.
*Authors you'd love to see tour near you
and
*Books that are waaaay better than their covers let on
Just to name a few :)
TheRest IsStill Unwritten
Thanks Rachel!! :) I love all your ideas!
DeleteFemale authors vs male authors
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway!
Emily @ http://emily-confessionsofabookaholic.blogspot.co.uk/
Thanks Emily! Great prompt!
DeleteThanks for the great giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteAgree or disagree with Teams for book characters? i.e. Team Peeta, or Team Gale (The Hunger Games)
Ohhh teams! Fun, thanks :)
DeleteAwesome giveaway - thank you.
ReplyDeleteThere's lots of controversy over Amazon, including price fixing, running companies out of business etc.
So Kindle or paper?
Thanks Bex! :)
DeleteLet's talk prompts;
ReplyDeleteBook trailers..good book promotion or no??
Vampire & Werewolf stories..redundant or still marketable?
Are there any stories that haven't been tapped to death..something fresh and new??
These are some of the things I think about...thanks for the giveaway!!!
Congrats on meeting and exceeding follower expectations!!
Thanks so much Traci!! I love all the prompt ideas!!
DeleteLiterary Pet Peeves
ReplyDeleteThanks Eva!
DeleteLet's talk prompt: 1st person or 3rd person and why.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the 800+ followers, at this rate you may even get to 1000 before the end of the giveaway *holding thumbs for you*
That would be awesome!! :) Thanks for the prompt idea!!
DeleteTo spoil or not to spoil in reviews
ReplyDeleteThanks Sharon!!
DeleteThanks for the great giveaway. Congrats on so many followers!
ReplyDeleteLet's Talk Prompt:
I am a new blogger and I find it very hard to get ARC copies. What are the best ways to go about doing this? Some pointers perhaps from more established bloggers?
Great idea!! thanks :)
DeleteBig congrats on reaching (and surpassing) your follower milestone! Hmm, a prompt... If you could visit one fantasy world from a book, which would it be and why?
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm not sure. Honestly I wonder about a lot of those things too. But I like comment. And I agree with Shelver 506. How can you not be a pest on twitter lol. I feel like I am ;)
ReplyDeleteHaley@www.passingthepages.blogspot.com
What about getting a publisher to give pointers on getting those oh so loved ARCs
ReplyDeleteJeannette @ www.walkingonbookshelves.blogspot.com
I can't think of an interesting suggestion, so I won't enter that option, but I wanted to say thank you for the giveaway opportunity.
ReplyDeletePam
Congrats on your followers and thanks a lot for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the giveaway! Congrats on the nearly 900 followers!!
ReplyDeleteHow about a discussion about love triangles and insta-love.
Lets Talk Prompts:
ReplyDeleteIf you could live in any book, which book would you choose?
OR
If you were stranded on a deserted island (or mountain top), what three books would you want to have with you, and why?
How about 'books which affect you the most" for your "Let's Talk" prompt? Or maybe 'books which you will never ever forget as long as you live? :D
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 500 followers that's great. for your "Let's Talk" how about what book got you to love reading? Do you like book trailers or do they spoil your own imagination of what you think the people should look like?
ReplyDeleteLet's Talk Topic Idea:
ReplyDeleteWithin YA books, do you read a little of everything, or find yourself graviating toward one category or theme (paranormal, contemporary, dystopian, steampunk, fantasy, angels, vampires, etc.)? What factors affect your choices in books by topic/category?
Thank you for this giveaway opportunity! I'd love a chance to read/review and this one is definitely on my TBR pile! You rock!
I agree with the too close to home question. Having seen Hunger Games and seeing such young kids dying etc....we almost lost our oldest (he's 5 now) when he was 9 months old and it was a hard thing to watch.
ReplyDeleteAs for another question. Is it a conflict to be a beta reader and a reviewer? I had that issue come up this week with an author. We decided to go with just a review but I like to hear all opinions.
Thanks for doing the giveaway and congratulations on 500 followers. I'm at 7 I can hope to get to 100! LOL
Books that everyone else loved but you just don't get the attraction.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, thank you for this immensely generous giveaway opportunity! Congratulations on passing this milestone, may you have many more.
ReplyDeleteAs for the "Let's Talk" feature - I think it is a fantastic idea. I'm always seeking to increase my interaction with book bloggers, and create dialogue, and this is a wonderful attempt. Here are some ideas:
1) Books to Movies - what gets lost in the translation?
2) How does cultural nuance affect the narrative of a novel?
3) Do you like your books narrated in first person? or third person?
and my favorite:
4) What makes a good review?
ongrats on such a big milestone - my suggestion would be:-
ReplyDeleteIf you had to spend eternity inside the pages of a book which book would you choose and why?
Congrats on your 500 followers! That’s so exciting for you!
ReplyDeleteHow about, How did you learn about book blogging? What’s your opinion on eReaders? What’s your opinion on all these YA books being turned to movies?
(Hope I’m not repeating anything but 149 comments is hard to sort through, lol)
i think you should do one on the editing process or something. I've seen a lot of books lately (some indie authors, some not) that have tons of grammatical errors and sentence structure problems. I would be interested to see what type of process is used. Not sure if this is the type of thing you are looking for, but I'd like to hear about it! And thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteShould ratings be dropped for poor editing?
ReplyDeleteIndie authors yay or nay?
Free ebooks - love them or hate them?
How much should an ebook cost? Should there be a price limit?
Those are all I can think of x
Congrats on so many followers! And luck to have many more! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the wonderful giveaway! I will come back and comment once I think of a good one.
Some topics for Let's Talk:
ReplyDelete- Tips for writing reviews
- What is more important for you as a reader: character or plot?
- What are the elements that make the "perfect" read?
- How much personal experience should the author include in their book/characters? I was just reading an interview the other day where the main character played a sport that the author played.
Congrats on 500+ followers and thanks for the giveaway!
Do you always decide whether or not to read a book based on the reviews? Or sometimes do you still read a book that sounds great, even though it got negative reviews?
ReplyDeleteCliffhangers? Necessary or Desperation? I hate cliffhangers with a passion. If you believe in your book, if you write a good enough book, you shouldn't have to rely on cliffhangers to bring readers back. The book should be able to stand on its own without it. Im my opinion!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I'm always amazed on people who's giving this kind of giveaway. Especially making it international.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations once again. Wish you more succeed and good luck. Thank you for this giveaway.
On average, how much do you spend on books a month?
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaways!
Let's Talk topic: "Is dystopian YA lit a sign of despair with the modern world?
ReplyDeleteWho won?
ReplyDeleteSo sorry!! My computer got a virus and I just now got back on it (= I'm posting and emailing tonight!
