Weigh In Wednesday (#2)

Hey everyone!! I made an oops and said I would post a review tomorrow so instead of canceling or having it up for less time I am posting my Weigh in Wednesday post early (don't worry you can still join tomorrow ;) ). From now on I will try to post WiW at 9 p.m Tuesday night. Let me know what you think!

*I do ask that if you would like to participate please site me and my blog somewhere in the post.*

Todays topic: E-book Vs. Print Book

My Answer:  Personally I prefer a print book over an e-book, and for many reasons.  The biggest reason is that reading an e-book hurts my eyes.  My eyes are bad enough already, I don't need to make them worse!  When I read a print book I also read it much faster.  I'm not sure why it works that way, it just does. Reading print books are also more enjoyable, probably because of the above two reasons.  I really like the feeling of flipping the pages, and the smell of really new or really old books.

What about YOU? Do you prefer e-books or print books?
Next weeks topic: Contemporary vs. Fantasy

  3. Love this meme. There was a study done that shows people read e-books slower because of all the other digital world distractions, i.e. facebook and emails. I don't know if that is what you have found or not.

    1. Wow why did it say FB, and emails interfere? I read on my Kindle at school where those other things aren't an option and I still read slower! Thanks for the fun fact and joining in Melissa!!

    1. A blog hop is where you make your own post about the subject and link it up to one central post (in this case the central post is here on Epilogue) Then you enter your link and you can "hop" around to the other people's posts and see what they think on the subject!

  6. There is nothing like holding a book in your hand. I like the smell and the feel of them. It sounds kinda weird out loud.

    1. Me too. I have a Kindle, Kindle app on my phone, and on my computer. I love that I can leave one and the others know exactly where I stopped reading. It feels like my own personal bit of magic.

  13. Print book for books on the craft (or any other reference type book), e-books for pretty much everything else. Except classics, of course. And if you'd asked me a year and a half ago, I'd have said print. I love my Kindle more than I ever thought I would. :)

    1. I know many people who have latched on to their Kindle or Nook who claimed they would never read from them... many people have come a LONG way :)

  16. I was just having a conversation earlier this week about this topic. When it comes down to it, I really want a physical copy of the book. I like holding it, smelling it (because there is nothing better than the smell of books), and the satisfaction of actually getting to the last page and feeling like I've actually finished something. I don't feel that when I read an e-book. I'd say that I spend a good 80% of the time admiring how fun pages look when I flip them on my iPad and I get distracted. However, there are a few things I love about e-books. For a lot of indie authors, it's the only way you can read their books. You can't beat the portability. That being said, sometimes I don't feel comfortable carrying my iPad around everywhere I go. Probably my favourite thing to read on my iPad is magazines. I'm a magazine-a-holic and subscribe to about a dozen magazines. Those magazines take up a heck of a lot of space (here's looking at you, Entertainment Weekly). It feels like such a waste to get all of these magazines, read them, and then go through, ripping out pages and throw them out 6 months later. Plus, they look all gorgeous and glossy on my iPad's screen. I'm not sure if I actually answered the question, but I'm just a bit conflicted. If I could only choose one, it would be print, but in this magical world we live in and I can choose both. So I do.
