Weigh In Wednesday (#1)

waight-1
*I do ask that if you would like to participate please site me and my blog somewhere in the post.*
Todays topic: Fiction Vs. Nonfiction

My Answer:  Fiction. When I read I want the story to take me away from the current time/situation/place that i'm in.  When I read nonfiction it leaves me with a flat feeling, it doesn't lift my spirits and make the rest of the day great: at best I stay awake.

What about you do you prefer fiction or nonfiction?  Let me know in the comments which YOU prefer!

Next weeks question: E-Book Vs. Print Book

  1. I have to agree. It's fiction all the way for me, because I've enough non-fiction IRL, thank you very much. I'd rather have my leisure reading take me away from that.

You're so right about the flat feeling. I get that too.

(I've already got a review scheduled for tomorrow, but I'll participate in the future. I think this is a great idea!)

    1. I'm glad I'm not the only one, it sounded odd when I wrote about the flat feeling... but it's true! I'm glad you'll participate in the future!!

  3. While I can be taken far away with a good non-fiction book that relays a memoir (just finished and loved "Day of Honey" by Annia Ciezadlo), I prefer fiction. I read it to escape and I write it to escape. In fact, fiction helps me go to the gym. I read off my kindle while doing anything where I'm capable of placing the kindle on a piece of equipment or on my lap. Thirty minutes on an elliptical is nothing when your brain is mostly somewhere else! Currently reading "Matched."

    1. I'm glad nonfiction can carry you away too!! Maybe I haven't read the right book yet, most of them are for school and very dry!

  5. I'd say fiction too since it's what I mostly read. I do have to give nonfiction some props though because I had an awesome English teacher in high school that made me realize nonfiction could be good as well. We had to read an autobio. and write a letter from that persons perspective. I did Frank Sinatra. I will never forget that book/assignment.

  6. I'm the same, Iwould go with fiction. There are good pick me up stories in non-fiction too, where someone prevails over a difficult life.
